Fredric Bauer is a new postdoc at IMES. Get to know him through three quick questions:

What brings you to IMES?

I have collaborated with researchers from IMES in previous projects and was thus very glad for the opportunity to become part of the division as a researcher in the REINVENT project.

What is your background?

Although a chemical engineer by training my PhD research on biorefinery innovation focused on the social context of technological innovation and its role in the transition to a bioeconomy.

What motivates you to work on innovation for decarbonisation?

It is now apparent that many industrial sectors need to redefine themselves and their technologies to be able to deliver products and services with a low carbon footprint. The challenges for some sectors is even larger than for the energy sector and it is fascinating to study and partake in this transition.
